Radio in Kenya
The mass media in Kenya is considered to have several radio stations with different vernacular languages. Radio stations act as a communication platform in which people can gain information regarding a particular matter easily. In ensuring that the information reaches a large group of people, there has been the adoption of the vernacular radio station that uses different
languages. It has also been crucial in helping people who do not understand the English and Kiswahili languages to access the information. The radio stations are considered to have a statutory body known as the Media Council of Kenya that regulates the radios activities. This independent institution also takes charge of ensuring that there is discipline among the journalists. The Kenyan radio programs are also deemed regulated by the Kenyan Films and
Classification Board, a corporation falling under the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (WUWF, 2020) .
There are several radio stations in Kenyan known as a result of the different music they play. Citizen FM, Capital FM is deemed to play classic music, rock, and pop music. Metro FM is known for the reggae music that it tends to plays. Homeboyz radio plays R and B together with hip hop music. Easy FM, together with KBC, is also known to play R and B music. For instance, every Sunday, the famous Luo vernacular forum is known as radio Ramogi. There are live educative lessons for educating the children on mathematics lessons and English lessons (Uwe, 2021) . Kikuyu radio stations like the inooro FM
are essential in teaching the Kikuyu people about their culture. Other radio stations that provide educative online programs include Kameme FM, Kiss 100, and the Citizen Radio station.
